Reviews
The atmosphere was nice and the noise level was good even though there was a big party, my table still had good conversation that we could hear! Starters were all great: watermelon & tomato salad, crab cake, vegetable tempura. I was disappointed with my fried chicken-the gravy wasn’t enough to call it smothered, it was just enough to make the skin soggy and my husband ordered the pork chop and it came with a coating of sauce. Tip to the chef put the gravy on the side and the sauce on the bottom or just don’t include them at all. With all that said, I will go back and order differently. The salmon and lobster & shrimp ravioli were a complete hit!!
Enjoyed Sunday brunch here with a girlfriend (who also reviewed, yay us!) and sat for bar seating. Reservations were booked 3 weeks out so keep that in mind! Bar seating wasn’t crowded but it is a gamble so get there at 11 for a seat if no reservation. Wagacha, the host, was very kind and helpful. Immediately felt welcome.
Caelan was our bartender and kept our bottle of champagne chilled for our mimosas. We opted for that with the juices and I also had a peach sangria which was seasonal.
The buffet was delicious! I enjoyed the mini croissants, deviled egg variety and the mashed potato cakes. Those potato cakes cannot be missed. Wow! I cant wait to come back again - Nick, the manager, is doing everything right to make this a repeat brunch contender for those in the area!
This is the best restaurant for a sit down dinner in downtown Silver Spring in my opinion. The chef driven menu it truly excellent and they have awesome happy hour deals including $1 raw oysters. I'm a huge fan of the ranch water summer crush cocktail. Great place for a private party or group dinner because they have good spaces for large and small groups. It's known for excellent steaks but I'm more of a veg and seafood girl and I always find things I love. My husband is wild about the duck. Definitely going to have to try it for brunch.
General summary: Friendly and helpful staff, nice venue, great atmosphere, however for dinner, prices are not aligned with portion sizes/quality.
Saw people raving about this restaurant’s happy hour, so I decided to take my family there for dinner. The hostess and server were very friendly and we enjoyed them. Food was surprisingly underwhelming, unfortunately. Mashed potatoes had a watery consistency and no flavor. The tenderloin was delicious, however the spinach underneath it was over seasoned. I’d also ordered a side of shrimp that didn’t get delivered to the table until I finished my steak. They were under seasoned. My family had fried green tomatoes (which were the size of Oreo cookies, very small), the crab cake which was ok, flat iron steak that wasn’t appetizing, salmon, which was good, and for dessert, the mango sorbet and homemade vanilla ice cream, which was grainy and not good. For the price we paid, the food delivered and served wasn’t comparable.
Nice gem in the heart of downtown silver spring! Happy hour begins at 4pm to closing time- all you need to do is secure a spot at the bar.
I had an aperol spritz and was definitely feeling it! Thank you bartender.
Grabbed a couple of happy hour bites and they were fairly priced and delicious - bruschetta sampler, prosciutto, oysters, crab cake bites and fries! 10/10 recommend - would go again.
Sat at the Bar for Sunday Brunch with a girlfriend. The bartender was very attentive, made sure our plates were cleared and drinks were filled.
Food was delicious; 3 deviled eggs options, fried chicken was crispy, French toast was perfect. The fried mashed potato balls are a must try also Highly recommend!!
Have been withholding my review until after several visits. I think this place has promise but is still clearly figuring things out. The menu is very inconsistent- we come and enjoy something, only to find it’s missing from the menu on our next visit.
I hope they keep the squid ink and crab pasta, because it’s what made me really start looking forward to coming back. It’s so good we’ve come for it 3 weeks in a row now! My husband and his parents agree that it’s phenomenal. We also very much enjoyed the steak fritte.
The rockfish was too sweet for my taste, but well-prepared. The apple crumble was WAY too sweet but the tiramisu was really nice. The staff has been really lovely during each visit. Glad there’s parking in back. Looking forward to discovering more must-have dishes, and hopefully a consistently good restaurant in our neighborhood!
Had an intimate dinner in one of the alcove booths. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and the food was good. We were somewhat disappointed in the service. Two of the people in our party needed Gluten free dishes and we specifically asked if the potato galette that came with the steak was GF and the waiter said it was. When she received her steak there was no side. After waiting about 10 minutes, we finally found out it wasn’t GF, but the waiter never told her nor offered a substitute until we pushed it. I also asked for no onions on my salad but it came with onions that I had to pick out. Other than those 2 things the food was very good. They do validate parking which is a nice, but you have to park in the correct lot and get a code. All of the items that we ordered on the prix fixe menu were also available on the standard one.
